Reports to: Principal(s), ESL Lead Teacher, and/or Director of Federal Programs
Purpose: To serve English Learners (ELs) as they acquire academic and social English language proficiency in grades K-12. To provide a safe learning environment that supports the English language development and academic success of English Learners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Act as a liaison between students, school staff, and family.
Administer state required assessments.
Schedule and deliver instruction that is aligned to needs of the students based on the LIEP matrix.
Maintain student data, records, and documentation for each student and update as needed.
Design and deliver ESL instruction based on the WIDA Standards.
Attend parent/teacher conferences of English Learners as needed.
Collaborate with regular education teachers to share instructional strategies for English Learners.
Design and deliver parent engagement activities at the school site(s).
Design and deliver professional development at the school site(s) that supports English Learners.
Maintain a high level of organizational skills.
Attend ESL staff meetings.
Participate in professional development opportunities.
Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Term of Employment: 10 months employment
