Title: ESOL Morning Co-Manager
Work Year: 10-month, Part Time
Department: Shoreline Adult Education (SAE)
Reports to: Director of Adult Education
Location: Branford High School & Joel Elementary School (Clinton)
Hourly Rate: $47.00
Position Overview: This role is an integral part of the SAE Management Team, responsible for the oversight of all morning ESOL classes and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate morning ESOL programming, including the development of semester schedules and the selection of instructional materials and digital resources.
Lead the annual writing of the federal PEP Family Literacy grant. Monitor program implementation to ensure all state and federal grant requirements are met through mid-year and year-end reporting.
Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and orientation of part-time morning teachers, aides and volunteers. Conduct observations and evaluations to support professional growth and facilitate quarterly staff meetings and professional development.
Ensure all coursework aligns with Connecticut State Department of Education (SDE) requirements, including College and Career Readiness and English Language Proficiency Standards.
In collaboration with the Program Facilitator and ESOL Program Assistant, oversee student data collection (registration, attendance, assessment and outcomes) within the LACES database. Use knowledge of the CASAS Assessment System to inform classroom instruction and professional development.

Work in this classification is performed in classroom and school environments with adult learners. The position requires the ability to manage multiple tasks, supervise staff, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and community members. Regular use of computers and instructional technology is required.
