The Esports Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the esports program. This role includes managing gaming equipment, coordinating leagues and tournaments, facilitating youth engagement, and ensuring a safe and inclusive gaming environment. The Esports Coordinator will also promote positive sportsmanship, teamwork, and digital responsibility while helping grow participation in the esports program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Plan, coordinate, and implement esports leagues, tournaments, camps, and special events.
- Supervise esports activities and ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive gaming environment.
- Manage and maintain gaming equipment including PCs, consoles, peripherals, and software updates.
- Monitor gameplay and enforce program rules, policies, and digital conduct standards.
- Recruit and register participants for esports programs.
- Communicate with participants, parents, and staff regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates.
- Track program attendance and maintain participant records.
- Promote esports programs through marketing, social media, and community outreach.
- Collaborate with staff to integrate esports with youth development and educational initiatives.
- Set up and break down equipment for tournaments, practices, and events.
- Provide basic troubleshooting for gaming hardware and software.
- Ensure proper care and security of esports equipment and gaming space.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in recreation, sports management, gaming, or related field preferred.
- Experience with esports titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros., Roblox, Madden, NBA 2K, or similar competitive games preferred.
- Experience working with youth, teens, or recreational programs preferred.
- Knowledge of gaming PCs, consoles, streaming platforms, and esports tournament formats.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple participants and activities simultaneously.
Certifications (Preferred or Required) - CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- SafeSport or youth protection training (if applicable).
Work Environment - Primarily indoors in an esports or gaming lab environment.
- May require evening and weekend hours depending on league schedules and tournaments.
- Occasional lifting of gaming equipment (up to 30 lbs)
Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to set up and move gaming equipment and tournament stations.
