Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking an ESS Test Technician in Austin, TX for a temp-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The ESS Test Technician will perform environmental stress screening and operational testing on complex electronic production components and subassemblies. This 1st shift role requires hands-on vibration systems experience, vibration profile development experience, environmental test setup experience, and the ability to process and compile complete test data packages.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • 1+ year of experience performing operational tests on complex electronic production components or subassemblies.
  • 1+ year of direct experience working with Unholtz-Dickie or similar vibration systems.
  • 1+ year of vibration profile development experience.
  • Experience supporting engineering qualification or environmental test efforts.
  • Experience setting up and operating vibration systems and thermal cycling equipment.
  • Experience with Thermotron temperature chambers.
  • Ability to conduct environmental tests involving temperature and vibration.
  • Ability to follow standard test methods, procedures, engineering instructions, and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to maintain test logbooks with accurate test information.
  • Ability to process and compile product data, quality information, and defect records.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with thermocouples, data loggers, vibration controls, accelerometer systems, pressure instrumentation, or air flow instrumentation.
  • Experience using test and measurement equipment such as automated test equipment, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, or other electronic instrumentation.
  • Experience supporting environmental stress screening, engineering qualification testing, electronics testing, or production test environments.
  • Experience assisting higher-level technicians with complex test activities.
  • Aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or high-reliability production experience.

What You'll Do

  • Perform operational testing on complex electronic production components and subassemblies.
  • Support Environmental Stress Screening testing for production and engineering groups.
  • Set up and operate vibration systems and thermal cycling equipment.
  • Conduct simulated environmental testing involving temperature and vibration.
  • Use monitoring and control equipment such as thermocouples, data loggers, vibration controls, accelerometer systems, and related instrumentation.
  • Support testing using automated test equipment and individual electronic test instruments.
  • Follow standard test methods, engineering procedures, written instructions, and verbal direction.
  • Assist higher-classified technicians with more complex test activities.
  • Process and compile product test data into complete data packages.
  • Record quality information and defect data.
  • Maintain test logbooks with accurate and complete test information.
  • Perform other test support duties as assigned.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 1st shift.
  • Monday Thursday, 4/10 schedule.
  • Typical hours are 6:00 AM 4:30 PM.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • No overtime expected.
  • No travel required.

Pay

  • $22.86/hour
