Site Responsibilities: CertainTeed: Gypsum - Palatka, FL

• The Process Engineer I will assist with Process Innovation through close collaboration with CertainTeed and Saint-Gobain support groups in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Gypsum Vision, Mission, Values and Objectives (VMVO). Utilizing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles, this position will focus on product formulation, process development and optimization, equipment design and optimization, general project engineering, and trial planning and execution.
• This position will allow for a unique opportunity of gaining experience and contributing to process engineering, project engineering and technical (board-making) projects. These experiences will allow the Process Engineer I to effectively contribute to designing and optimizing process equipment by knowing what is required for the process while understanding process and equipment gaps.

Program Summary:

Our 18-month development program provides participants a full-time operational role, designed to improve their manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Participants will be located at one singular manufacturing plant for 18 months and will be involved with quarterly travel to other Saint-Gobain manufacturing sites in North America. The time split between local site projects and EOM program activities is 80:20 respectively. Classroom-based E-learnings, hands-on action-based learning in operational environments as well as a plethora of networking opportunities, are just some of the activities in place designed to accelerate your career development and future career growth. These trainings and quarterly travel opportunities are a requirement for program completion and full participation should be given, except for extenuating circumstances. While start dates for EOM program participants may vary, program activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December of the following year.

Upon successful completion of the program, EOM Engineers will be considered for a final placement role within their host business. Placement discussions begin approximately halfway through the program to provide ample time for the participant, host business, and Human Resources team to align on long-term career goals and potential opportunities across Saint-Gobain's network of nearly 160 sites throughout North America. Provided performance expectations are met, participants will receive a designated final placement offer from their host business; however, employees remain free to pursue other opportunities within Saint-Gobain should they choose not to accept that offer.

Job Responsibilities:

The role duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the location. Some examples of specific responsibilities are:

• Providing engineering support for site process improvements.
• Supporting capital expenditure projects/new equipment installations.
• Supporting safety/sustainability initiatives at the plant.
• Implementing new automation processes at the site.
• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical etc.)
• Internship experience in manufacturing or professional setting is a plus
• Valid passport required for international travel to Canada
