A luxury private estate in San Diego is seeking a polished, detail-oriented, and service-driven Estate Houseman to support the day-to-day presentation, organization, and operational readiness of a high-end residential property.

This is a highly hands-on position focused primarily on exterior estate presentation, household support, and light facilities oversight within a fully staffed private residence environment. The estate consists of two homes on one property and includes an established household team consisting of a Director of Residences & Operations, House Manager, and Executive Housekeeper.

The Estate Houseman will report directly to the House Manager and work collaboratively with the household staff to ensure the property remains exceptionally maintained and guest-ready at all times, particularly during principal occupancy and entertaining.

This is not a traditional landscaping role or solely a maintenance position. The ideal candidate takes pride in presentation standards, notices details proactively, communicates well, and understands the expectations of working within a luxury private home environment.

Exterior Estate Care & Property Presentation

  • Maintain all outdoor living spaces and hardscape areas to exceptionally high presentation standards

  • Detailed upkeep of patios, pool areas, outdoor kitchens, entryways, garages, walkways, and exterior entertaining spaces

  • Sweep, organize, wipe down, blow out, and reset exterior areas throughout the day as needed

  • Pressure wash exterior spaces when appropriate

  • Ensure the property remains consistently “guest-ready” and visually pristine

  • Monitor outdoor furniture, umbrellas, towels, cushions, and accessories for cleanliness and organization

  • Maintain clean and orderly back-of-house and garage areas

Property Operations & Household Support

  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of the estate and proactively identify maintenance concerns

  • Monitor basic household systems including lighting, HVAC, fireplaces, pool/spa systems, water features, and basic AV functionality

  • Assist with vendor and contractor coordination as directed by the House Manager

  • Receive deliveries and organize incoming packages

  • Support organization of storage spaces and household inventory systems

  • Assist with seasonal projects, household setup, and estate organization tasks

Hospitality & Daily Estate Support

  • Assist with property readiness for arrivals, departures, and guest visits

  • Support entertaining setup and breakdown as needed

  • Assist with furniture movement and outdoor entertaining preparation

  • Maintain exterior areas throughout the day during principal occupancy and events

Light Maintenance & Equipment Oversight

  • Perform light handyman-style tasks and basic troubleshooting

  • Replace light bulbs, filters, batteries, and related household items

  • Communicate maintenance needs promptly and professionally to the House Manager

  • Assist with vehicle, golf cart, and equipment fueling, charging, and readiness
