Estate Planning Attorney

Retirement & Wealth Planning Firm | Confidential Client
Locations: Central New Jersey
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Overview

A well-established, rapidly growing retirement-focused financial planning firm is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to lead and expand its legal planning services. This is a front-facing, revenue-generating role, not a traditional back-office legal position.

The firm operates a high-volume, seminar-driven client acquisition model that provides a consistent pipeline of pre-qualified prospects. The selected attorney will work closely with experienced financial advisors to deliver integrated estate, retirement, and tax planning solutions.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys client interaction, public speaking, and tying income directly to performance—with substantial infrastructure and support already in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present estate planning concepts at educational dinner seminars (minimum one per week)
  • Meet with prospects and clients following seminars to assess needs and recommend strategies
  • Draft and implement estate planning documents including wills, trusts, asset protection, and wealth transfer strategies
  • Close trust engagements independently or in partnership with senior financial advisors
  • Participate in comprehensive planning conversations integrating legal, financial, and retirement planning
  • Build long-term client relationships that drive ongoing referrals and recurring revenue

Candidate Profile

Required

  • Active New Jersey Bar license
  • Strong estate planning experience (trusts, wills, wealth transfer, asset protection)
  • Comfort presenting to groups and speaking in front of audiences
  • Client-facing mindset with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Willingness to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings

Highly Desired

  • 10+ years of estate planning experience
  • Proven ability to close business or generate revenue in a professional services environment
  • Experience collaborating with financial advisors
  • Familiarity with retirement planning concepts and how estate strategies align
  • Existing Series 65 and/or life insurance license (not required; firm will sponsor)

Schedule & Location Expectations

  • Full-time, in-office role
  • Regular evening hours due to seminars and client meetings
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commute to Central New Jersey
    • New Jersey preferred
    • Eastern Pennsylvania (near NJ border) considered
    • Staten Island possible
    • NYC and long-distance commutes are not a fit

Compensation

This is a high-earning potential role with flexible compensation based on experience, production, and business contribution.

  • Base Salary: Starting around $130,000, with flexibility upward
  • Estate Planning Revenue Share: Approximately 50% of trust fees
  • Annuity & Advisory Revenue Participation: Available when collaborating on retirement income planning
  • Realistic Total Compensation Potential: $350,000–$600,000+ annually based on performance

(Compensation examples are illustrative, not guarantees.)

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and life insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid Time Off and earned sick leave
  • Full paralegal, administrative, and operational support
  • Firm-sponsored licensing (Series 65 and life insurance)

Why This Role

  • Built-in lead flow from a proven seminar model
  • Strong marketing, operational, and support infrastructure
  • Clear path to significantly higher earnings than traditional estate planning roles
  • Opportunity to be a cornerstone professional within a growing firm

This is a confidential search. Qualified candidates interested in a high-performance estate planning role with exceptional upside are encouraged to apply.
