Civil Estimator

This is a ground-floor opportunity to play a key role in shaping the estimating and preconstruction function within an established contractor.

This role is responsible for leading estimating efforts, securing work, and helping develop internal systems, pricing structures, and processes as we continue to expand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil/site development projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate, competitive pricing
• Solicit, evaluate, and manage subcontractor/vendor pricing
• Analyze project risks, opportunities, and constructability
• Work directly with leadership to develop unit costs and production rates
• Lead and manage the full bid process from initial review through submission
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, general contractors, and clients
• Assist in creating and improving estimating systems, workflows, and tools
• Participate in project handoff to operations team to ensure alignment
• Contribute to the development of long-term preconstruction strategy

 Qualifications:

• 2-8 years’ experience in civil/site development estimating
• Strong understanding of earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and concrete
• Ability to read plans, specs, and perform accurate takeoffs
• Experience managing multi-scope, complex estimates
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and production rates
• Relationship-driven mindset with ability to help win work
• Self-starter comfortable in a growing, evolving environment

Compensation:

• Competitive base salary
• Performance-based bonus tied to work won and profitability

**This role has a clear path to Preconstruction Manager / Chief Estimator as the company continues to expand its civil operations.
