- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for concrete projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project plans and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
- Gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Collect and maintain historical data and cost databases to support estimating practices.
- Assist in compiling estimates into comprehensive bid packages for presentation to clients.
- Work with project managers and engineers to address any discrepancies or changes in project scope during the estimating phase.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and project correspondence for future reference.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance estimating skills, particularly in concrete construction methods and industry trends
- Promote Suntec's core principles to cultivate a collaborative, accountable work culture and encourage an ESOP mindset.
- 2+ years of experience in construction estimating or related roles
- Basic understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and specifications.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, especially when working under tight deadlines.
- A proactive attitude toward professional development and learning new estimating techniques or software tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic estimating software
