Job: ESTM-Estimator - Construction (Estimating)

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates under the guidance and direction of the Estimating Manager. This role works closely with sales, operations, and account management teams to ensure proposed work is well-defined, properly scoped, and aligned with company pricing and margin objectives. The Estimator plays a critical role in supporting growth by providing reliable estimates that balance competitiveness with operational feasibility and profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Review site conditions, scopes of work, plans, and specifications to develop complete and compliant estimates.
- Calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs based on production rates and historical data.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to clarify assumptions, timelines, and resource needs.
- Ensure estimates align with company pricing guidelines, margin targets, and operational standards.
- Maintain organized documentation for estimates, assumptions, and supporting data.
- Gather pricing data from suppliers and subcontractors
- Support post-job reviews and cost analyses to improve future estimating accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records within estimating.
- Performing other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in landscape management, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of estimating experience in landscaping, construction, or a related field-based service industry.
- Working knowledge of landscape maintenance and enhancement services, materials, and production practices.
- Ability to perform detailed cost calculations for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for site visits as needed.
- Ability to learn new technology quickly
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience estimating commercial, HOA, municipal, or large residential landscape projects.
- Familiarity with estimating and operational platforms such as Aspire or similar systems.
- Understanding of job costing, labor productivity, and margin analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with sales and field operations teams.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Desire to grow within an estimating or preconstruction career path.
