Job Details

Job Details / Responsibilities:

Build and submit proposals, including budgeting, scheduling, and overall project approach
Manage subcontractor invitation to bid (ITB) processes
Perform scope takeoffs and subcontractor scoping/leveling
Conduct project buyout and contracting after project award
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive advantages in the industry to support effective bidding
Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant information
Obtain accurate quotes for materials and systems to establish precise cost estimates
Fully read and interpret specifications, drawings, legends, and equipment schedules across schematic, construction, and permit document iterations
Estimate commercial and institutional construction projects in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
3-5 years of construction estimating experience preferred (willing to train the right motivated candidate)
Self-motivated, highly organized, accurate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent communicator with strong prioritization and multitasking skills
Capable of working both collaboratively in a team setting and independently on smaller projects with supervision
