Kerb Appeal Fenceworks is looking for a full time Estimator to increase the output of quotes across the Central Valley. This person will be working at our headquarters in Fresno, CA. KAF provides a competitive salary package based on experience. This person will be trained and work directly with the Estimating Manager in all aspects of the bidding process. A background in commercial, industrial fencing or construction is highly desirable. Experience in bidding public works jobs is a plus and must be able to read blueprints and perform take-offs.

Qualifications: 


  • MUST HAVE 1 year Estimating experience in Construction and or Fencing, (can be substituted with 3 years experience building fences for a fence company).
  • Excellent measurement skills.
  • A firm grasp of relevant math principles. 
  • Ability to create extensive materials list.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel (a must), Design Skills, Cost Accounting, Problem Solving, Quality Focus, Attention to Detail, Conceptual Skills, Informing Others, Strategic Planning.
  • Blue Beam, or various estimating software programs for take offs to prepare take offs/estimates.
  • Experience bidding prevailing wage/public works jobs a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprint construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Bid Boards and other outlets to increase bid output.
  • Must be able to communicate proficiently in English with outstanding professional oral, written and interpersonal skills, bilingual is a plus.
  • Should have negotiation skills with ethical conduct.
  • People skills a must.
  • Strong analytical skills and is detail oriented and thorough.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Efficient in time management and be able to maintain scheduling.
  • Must have Reliable transportation, driver’s License and be insurable.
  • What is most important is a hard-working individual, who possesses leadership attributes, and is trainable!

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00 pm, but can be adjusted as business requirements dictate. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
 
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Placing bids for fence building jobs, submitting detailed labor and materials cost plans and overseeing multiple projects at one time. 
  • Review, quote, prepare and complete a high volume of bids/estimates
  • Contact customers to go through any applicable questions regarding project needs on all incoming requests
  • Touch base and follow up with customers to close on quoted opportunities
  • Locate and research public and private bid offerings for potential projects
  • Interpret construction documents, drawings and technical documents to prepare estimates
  • Complete bid take-offs by estimating material, equipment and labor quantity needed to complete the proposed project.
  • Maintain and update construction related materials price database
  • Input take-offs into computer spreadsheet.
  • Obtain all pricing for materials.

  • USA ticket submittals
