Purpose
The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for Allstream Services & Rental's industrial service projects. The Estimator analyzes customer specifications, drawings, work scopes, production requirements, labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and project risks to prepare complete bid packages that support profitable project execution.
This position serves as a critical link between Business Development, Operations, Project Management, Safety, Procurement, and Customers to ensure projects are estimated accurately, executed safely, and delivered profitably while maintaining Allstream's commitment to
Raising the Standard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Other duties may be assigned.)- Review customer RFQs, bid packages, technical specifications, drawings, and scope of work to develop accurate and comprehensive project estimates.
- Analyze project requirements to determine labor hours, production rates, equipment utilization, consumables, subcontractors, mobilization, travel, lodging, freight, and project duration.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for:
- Robotic & Conventional UHP Waterblasting Services for
- Storage tanks, Offshore platforms, Marine vessels, LNG facilities, Refinery and petrochemical facilities
- Surface preparation – Removal of Fiberglass, Rubber Liners, UHS Epoxy, Lead Paint, etc.
- Prepare accurate and competitive commercial bid proposals that align with Allstream's strategic pricing objectives.
- Obtain and evaluate pricing from vendors, rental suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate project costing.
- Participate in estimate reviews and turnover meetings with Operations and Project Management before project award.
- Support additional estimating, proposal development, and operational initiatives as assigned.
Education, Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of estimating experience in industrial services or oil and gas industries preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with estimating software, ERP systems, or project management software is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and competing deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, bid documents, and industrial work scopes.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
