Position Overview
The Estimator supports Gallant’s Preconstruction team by preparing accurate, competitive and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role collaborates closely with Preconstruction leadership, Cost Engineers, project teams, architects, and trade partners to support Gallant’s bidding strategies and project execution objectives. The Estimator is responsible for managing multiple deadline-driven pricing efforts while ensuring scope completeness, cost accuracy and alignment with client and company goals.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
•Review and analyze construction plans, specifications and related documents to develop detailed, accurate project estimates.
•Display a general understanding of differing project types and the estimating intricacies involved with bidding each type, currently inclusive of, but not limited to, corporate interiors, healthcare interiors, and all shapes and sizes of ground-up projects.
•Manage a steady stream of deadline-driven pricing efforts for clients, construction managers, property managers, hospital administrators and other industry stakeholders.
•Identify, evaluate and assemble appropriate subcontractor and trade partner bid lists for each assigned pricing and bidding effort.
•Prepare, issue and manage bid invitations through the Building Connected platform and other approved systems.
•Perform job walks, site visits, and field observations as required to document existing conditions and ensure accurate scope development.
•Conduct outreach to trade partners to support bid participation, confirm scope coverage, and clarify inclusions and exclusions prior to bid day.
•Analyze subcontractor proposals for scope completeness, pricing accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
•Collaborate with Preconstruction leadership and internal project stakeholders to assemble competitive, compliant and well-balanced bid packages.
•Assist internal associated personnel in negotiating subcontractor pricing, scope and general conditions to achieve optimal project value.
•Coordinate with external project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to align estimates with project objectives and timelines.
•Utilize historical cost data, market trends, and lessons learned to improve future estimating accuracy and competitiveness.
•Maintain organized and accurate documentation for all assigned estimates and bidding efforts.
Work Requirements

•Report to work at the designated start time
•Must be willing and able to travel to work sites, which are in different locations around our division
•Be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary
•Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures. Responsible for reporting to management/safety personnel or stopping work if needed due to any issue or activity, etc. that could result in an injury or death to yourself, another employee, sub-contractor or other at/on any Gallant property, office or job site. Responsible for stopping work and notifying onsite management and safety management if you spot an issue that could be life threatening.
•Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA
•Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required
•Must have/maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record with a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards.
