Build accurate estimates for industrial, commercial and government projects Florida Industrial Electric is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Estimator to join our Lake Mary team.
In this role, you will review drawings and specifications, complete detailed electrical takeoffs and prepare accurate, well-documented estimates for design-build government, industrial and commercial construction projects. You will work independently while collaborating with electrical project managers and estimators from other disciplines.
A minimum of three years of electrical estimating experience is required.
What you’ll do
Review proposal specifications, drawings and bid documents to determine the complete electrical scope of work.
Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed electrical construction estimates.
Review design options and recommend practical solutions based on cost, quality, schedule and material availability.
Collaborate with electrical project managers and estimators from other disciplines.
Maintain organized estimate files, takeoff quantities, current pricing lists and supporting documentation.
Research materials, pricing and project requirements as needed.
Support other department personnel throughout the estimating and proposal process.
Complete estimates accurately and within established deadlines.
Required qualifications
At least three years of professional electrical estimating experience.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Intermediate knowledge of construction math, electrical construction materials, installation methods and industry tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience using assembly-based electrical estimating software.
Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and proposal documents.
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Dependable, thorough and detail-oriented work habits.
Ability to commute to Lake Mary, Florida, or relocate before starting work.
Preferred qualifications
Experience using Accubid or McCormick Estimating Software.
Electrical estimating training or certification.
Journeyman electrician license.
Compensation and benefits
Florida Industrial Electric offers:
Annual pay of $55,000–$70,000.
