Job Details

The Estimator will play a key role in the preconstruction process by preparing accurate cost estimates and analyses that support bidding and project strategy. This position works closely with project teams, subcontractors, designers, and internal stakeholders to ensure cost-effective and competitive proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to define scope of work and cost assumptions.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, cost research, labor and material pricing, and estimate preparation.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed bid packages, cost proposals, and budget recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and subcontractors to evaluate potential risks and value engineering opportunities.
  • Maintain estimating databases, historical cost records, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to solicit quotations, negotiate pricing, and validate bid assumptions.
  • Support decision-making through accurate, timely estimates and clear presentation of cost data.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in construction estimating or preconstruction work (varies by level of role).
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools; comfort with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
