Our Client seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Utility Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The Utility Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for underground utility construction projects, including water, sewer, storm drainage, gas, electric, and telecommunications infrastructure.

Description
- Review project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for underground utility projects including:
- Water mains
- Sanitary sewer systems
- Storm sewer and drainage systems
- Gas distribution systems
- Electrical and telecommunications duct banks
- Site utility improvements
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Develop labor, equipment, material, and production cost analyses.
- Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation for public and private utility infrastructure projects.
- Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and opportunities for value engineering.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walk-throughs.
- Collaborate with project managers, field operations, and executive leadership to develop competitive bidding strategies.

Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of estimating experience in utility, civil, sitework, or heavy construction.
- Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to interpret civil drawings, utility plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
