We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Estimator to join our growing team in the construction industry. This role is central to our operations, providing detailed and accurate project estimates to ensure the successful execution of various construction projects. As an Estimator, you will be working on a diverse range of projects, from residential to commercial and infrastructure developments. Responsibilities
1. Lead the preparation of cost estimates for construction projects or services to aid management in bidding on or determining the price of the product or service.
2. Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
3. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
4. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
5. Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
6. Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
7. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
8. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
9. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
10. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in construction estimation.
3. Proven experience in project bidding, cost analysis, material take off (MTO), and cost management.
4. Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of managing a team.
5. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
6. Excellent numerical skills and ability to produce accurate, detailed work.
7. Proficiency in using estimation software and other relevant computer applications.
8. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
10. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
