Estimator
Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for sitework and utility construction projects. Analyze plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate budgets and pricing. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Manage projects from award through closeout, ensuring successful execution of scope, schedule, and budget. Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate field operations. Monitor project costs, prepare change orders, and track project profitability. Conduct site visits, pre-construction meetings, and project progress reviews. Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal construction teams. Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and contract specifications. Support business development efforts and help cultivate long-term client relationships.
5+ years of experience in estimating, project management, or a combined role within heavy civil, sitework, utility, excavation, or infrastructure construction. Strong understanding of underground utilities, earthwork, grading, drainage, and site development projects. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience preparing comprehensive estimates and managing projects simultaneously. Proficiency with estimating and project management software. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting costs, and analyzing project performance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required based on experience.
