A bit about us:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Preconstruction Estimator to manage multiple public and private construction projects simultaneously. In this role, you will lead the estimating process from early collaboration with key stakeholders through final proposal submission on bid day. Responsibilities include reviewing project documents, identifying all bidding and project requirements, submitting and managing RFIs and addenda, soliciting subcontractor and vendor pricing, performing quantity take-offs, and developing complete, accurate, and competitive estimates. This position also requires strong communication and coordination skills, as you will work closely with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues during negotiation and contract execution.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

· Partner with clients to understand their goals and develop high-value, cost-effective solutions.

· Identify all project requirements and proactively capture associated costs across all scopes of work.

· Analyze, level, and validate pricing for completeness, accuracy, and competitiveness.

· Collaborate in a transparent, team-oriented environment, ensuring visibility across all project stakeholders.

· Lead project handoffs to Project Managers, clearly communicating scope, contract requirements, and proposed subcontractors/vendors.

· Interpret specifications and contract documents to identify and mitigate risk.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to support ongoing and future opportunities.

· Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, sharing best practices and lessons learned with the team.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits to assess project conditions.

· Collaborate with owners and design teams on design-build opportunities.

· Solicit and manage subcontractor/vendor bids, ensuring complete, qualified, and competitive proposals.

· Prepare and deliver comprehensive, accurate, and well-organized bid proposals.

· Proficient knowledge of construction sequencing, union trade jurisdictions, and scheduling software. Proficient in developing conceptual and final project scheduling.

· Maintain and update subcontractor and vendor networks.


Required Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field

· Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction estimating


Required Skills:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

· Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

· Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond to changing project needs and priorities

· Active listener with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels

· Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently

· Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibilities and manage time and resources effectively

· Proficient knowledge of construction sequencing, union trade jurisdictions, and scheduling software. Proficient in developing conceptual and final project scheduling.

· Experience estimating interior buildout / tenant improvement work
