Role Highlights
This is a dual-function role that combines the technical precision of estimating with the relationship-driven demands of sales. The Estimator & Sales Representative is responsible for assessing project costs, preparing accurate and competitive bids, and actively pursuing new business opportunities. This person bridges the gap between winning the work and pricing it right — making them a critical contributor to both revenue growth and project profitability.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in construction estimating alongside the commercial instinct to identify opportunities, build client relationships, and close deals. This is not a desk-only role — it requires presence in the market, engagement with clients, and the drive to grow a book of business while maintaining the analytical rigor that keeps every bid competitive and every project profitable.

Estimating & Bid Preparation
  • Review project plans, specifications, and technical documents to determine scope of work.

  • Analyze drawings and other bid documents to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing and confirm scope.

  • Conduct market research to stay informed of current prices for materials and labor.
  • Evaluate and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.

Sales & Business Development
  • Prospect and develop new client relationships through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales and estimating process — from initial inquiry through bid submission and award.
  • Present proposals and cost estimates to clients in a compelling, clear, and professional manner that builds confidence and drives decisions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing client accounts and target markets.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and provide regular forecasting to leadership.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to expand the company’s market presence and network.
  • Collaborate with project managers and leadership to align bid strategy with business development goals.
  • Track and report on bid win rates, pipeline activity, and sales performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Follow up on submitted bids with urgency and professionalism to maximize win rate.
