Estimator

As our presence in the Bay Area continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in Life Science and Office Tenant Improvement construction to join our preconstruction team.
This is an opportunity to work on some of the region's most innovative laboratory, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and workplace environments while collaborating with industry leading clients, design teams, and construction professionals.
What You'll Do
As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in helping us win and successfully deliver projects. We will rely on your expertise to develop accurate budgets, evaluate project risks, and support our clients from concept through construction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and final estimates for Life Science and Office Tenant Improvement projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine complete project scope.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Develop and maintain project budgets throughout the preconstruction process.
- Assist with bid leveling, scope reviews, and subcontractor qualification efforts.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate project planning.
- Support proposal development, client presentations, and project interviews.
- Monitor market conditions, labor trends, and material pricing to ensure competitive estimates.
- Participate in project turnover meetings to support a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience within commercial construction.
- Experience estimating Life Science, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or Office Tenant Improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Experience with takeoff and estimating software such as OST, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, Procore, Sage Estimating, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
