Job Title: EstimatorJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cost Estimator to support cost estimates for building design templates and standards across various Operations Network building design programs. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a team to develop comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, subcontractors, permits, overhead, and contingencies that govern the design of technologically advanced facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize tools and templates for bid analysis and cost management.
  • Engage and manage third-party Quantity Surveyor vendors.
  • Work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external, on a global scale.
  • Communicate cost control goals to all stakeholders effectively.
  • Identify Value Engineering opportunities in the design and quantify the savings.
  • Identify project risks and communicate financial cost impacts to the broader team.
  • Update the repository for historical data.
  • Define and track cost performance metrics.
  • Analyze and provide timely feedback on Construction vendor proposals using benchmark data.
  • Create accurate bid leveling documents.
  • Provide cost analysis of schedule and design variations.
  • Validate the final award amount and scope based on contract documents, including the schedule.
  • Implement, maintain, and execute all cost control, change management, progress, and performance reporting.
  • Validate change cost impacts.
  • Ensure vendor invoices are accurate and timely.
  • Support the construction team with project close-out and final payments.
  • Deliver results for multiple projects with competing priorities consistently.

Essential Skills

  • 5 years of estimating experience.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, warehouse, or distribution projects.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating and general contractor estimating.
  • Experience utilizing Destini Estimating software; Bluebeam is also acceptable.
  • Working MEP knowledge is required to support high-level cost reviews and reports.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Onscreen Takeoff, Timberline, and Bluebeam.
  • Experience reviewing and justifying budgets.
  • Experience communicating estimate strategy to construction and non-construction professionals.
  • Experience working with global technology companies preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially as a power user.

Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of remote work. Collaboration with program managers and design managers is essential. The role involves working on site-specific requests or design change requests from various stakeholders. A good understanding of construction and materials is required to develop cost-effective solutions. The position involves reporting market findings and integrating data from third-party support into usable formats.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
