Job Details:
We are in need of an Estimator to join our team. This role is essential to our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for projects or services. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of the construction industry, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
  • Understand and evaluate standard construction practices, and provide input on cost savings and value engineering options.
  • Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality or availability of materials.
  • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Attend proposal meetings with clients to review and discuss project scope, estimate, schedule, etc.
  • Collaborate with project management team to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business.
  • Review construction design drawings and prepare quantity needs.
  • Estimate the cost of the different materials needed for the project.
  • Prepare and submit financial documents.
  • Balance multiple bids and establish project schedules.
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure all costs are accounted for.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 1 year of estimating experience within general construction or a specific trade.
  • Proficient in reading architectural plans and construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in using estimating software and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
  • Ability to demonstrate the personal skills of analytical reasoning and mathematical aptitude.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and assist in winning projects.
