We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team in the Birmingham Metro Area, Alabama. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electric utility construction projects, including transmission, distribution, substations, renewable energy, storm restoration, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities
· Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for utility construction projects.
· Review bid invitations, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
· Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
· Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
· Develop conceptual, budgetary, and detailed project estimates.
· Analyze labor productivity, equipment utilization, and production rates.
· Identify project risks and incorporate appropriate contingencies.
· Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations to develop complete project bids.
· Prepare bid summaries, clarifications, and proposal documents.
· Participate in estimate review meetings with leadership.
· Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing, and unit costs.
· Support contract negotiations, project turnover meetings, and change order pricing.
· Monitor current market pricing for labor, materials, fuel, and equipment.
· Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
· Travel to project sites as needed to verify project scope and constructability.
