Description

Senior Estimator Responsibilities

• Manage all project documentation to ensure compliance, schedule adherence, and budget control.
• Assemble and distribute as-built drawings, warranties, certificates of occupancy, and lien releases.
• Schedule projects in logical phases and allocate time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Track and analyze cost data to reduce gaps between estimates and actuals.
• Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor bids and budgets.
• Prepare and present comprehensive estimate documentation, identifying gaps and risks.
• Generate estimates across multiple delivery systems and review quotes with project management.
• Assist with post-bid buyouts and subcontractor onboarding.
• Participate in meet-and-greet presentations with subcontractors and suppliers.

Profile

Senior Estimator Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in construction estimating (commercial preferred).
• Strong understanding of construction law and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
• Experience across diverse project types and delivery methods.
• Proficiency in construction software and willingness to learn new platforms.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to prepare estimates from proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Skilled in identifying labor, material, and time requirements.
• Comfortable attending bid meetings, owner meetings, and stakeholder presentations.
• Works directly with the Chief Estimator on both small and large-scale projects.
• Effective communication with subcontractors and suppliers (e.g., concrete, steel, precast, masonry).
