Construction Estimator – Hybrid (85% Remote / 15% Onsite)

An established and fast-growing general contractor specializing in government and commercial construction is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. This position offers a hybrid schedule with approximately 85% remote work and 15% onsite presence in our Wilmington, NC headquarters. We are open to out-of-area candidates and offer relocation support for the right person.

What You’ll Do:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for government and commercial construction projects.
Review plans and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
Develop subcontractor scopes and ensure competitive coverage.
Manage bid-day analysis and assist with post-award buyouts.
Participate in pre-bid site visits and estimate handoffs to project teams.
Contribute value-engineering ideas and cost-saving recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of estimating experience in U.S.-based commercial or federal construction (required).
5+ years preferred in institutional, commercial, or military construction.
Proficiency with tools like RSMeans or e4Clicks is a plus.
Strong takeoff skills and familiarity with typical estimating workflows.
Highly organized with great attention to detail and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
