As an ESU4Kids Educator, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable organizing, developing, and creating a nourishing learning environment for youth. You will be an active member of the Reading department and will work closely with the Department Chair to enhance each students understanding and application of the Stream & Literacy principles. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your extensive teaching experience to elementary students and your dynamic communication skills all while collaborating with peers to maximize resources to engage students in the lessons. To be successful in this role, you must be able to support students emotionally, experience effectively implementing lesson plans, and possess strong communication skills.
Your normal hours will be Monday to Thursday 8:15 am to 3:15 pm but you may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a ESU4Kids Educator. This is a Temporary position from July 20th to July 30th with pre planning for activities & curriculum involved. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming.
What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
Encouraging positive behaviors in the activity sessions.
Communicating with parents as needed.
Working with the faculty''s team to communicate any child''s needs (homesickness/health concerns/behavior).
Maintaining cleanliness and order for activity areas & equipment.
What We''re Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
Teaching Certification.
K-6 Teaching Experience.
Collaborates/works well with teammates and supervisors.
Ability to demonstrate lesson/activity planning and implementation at a daily/weekly/program level.
Experience in facilitating STREAM based activities indoors and outdoors/hands-on activities (Preferred).
Seeks to learn and grow professionally (Preferred).
Is self-directed and accountable for own actions (Preferred).
