We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile ETO Design Engineer to join our Custom Design Engineering Group in our Engineer-to-Order (ETO) factory. This role is critical in supporting custom product design, prototyping, and production readiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, and the ability to collaborate across design, production, and quality teams. What will you do? Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Review and scrub BOMs for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability. Ensure alignment between design specifications and production requirements. Design & Documentation: Create and update detailed AutoCAD drawings and engineering documentation. Support design modifications for custom projects and ensure compliance with standards. Prototype Development: Lead and assist in prototype builds, ensuring functionality and design integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and optimize designs. Create working relationships Work with UL representatives. Testing & Quality Support: Participate in product testing and validation activities. Provide technical assistance to the Quality Assurance team for inspections and compliance. Creation of part specifications What are the key skills we are looking for? Multi-Technology Engineering - foundational level; integrating software, electronics, and electromechanics into cohesive product designs Problem Solving - developing level; applying technical concepts to address design and integration challenges Simulation Modeling - developing level; using simulation tools to validate and optimize product performance Design For Manufacturing - foundational level; ensuring designs are practical and cost-effective to produce Requirements Analysis - foundational level; translating customer and technical requirements into design specifications Standardization and Compliance - foundational level; ensuring products meet regulatory and industry standards Communication - foundational level; collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders Critical Thinking - foundational level; analyzing technical problems and contributing to solution development What qualifications will make you successful? Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field). 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or custom design environment. Strong understanding of BOM structures and ERP systems. Engineer-to-order (ETO) process experience Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with other CAD tools such as Creo are a plus. Hands-on experience with prototype assembly and testing. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Knowledge with UL requirements as they pertain to design build of electrical equipment. Familiar with production floor tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, mechanical instruments) Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis. For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 68,000 - USD 102,000 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.
