European Automotive Technician / Diagnostic Technician

EuroTek Specialists is looking for another technician to join our shop.
We specialize in European vehicles, primarily Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Volvo, Porsche and similar European makes. We are an independent shop, but the level of work we expect is much closer to what you would expect from a good dealer-level European technician.
We're not looking for someone just to fill a bay.
We're looking for a technician who enjoys this kind of work, wants to understand why something failed, and takes some pride in knowing the car was actually fixed when it leaves.
If you're the kind of technician who is comfortable with a wiring diagram, doesn't immediately reach for the parts cannon when there's a drivability problem, and actually enjoys figuring out difficult cars, you'll probably fit in well here.
What You'll Be Doing:
This is a real technician position, not just oil changes and brake jobs.
You'll be working on everything from normal maintenance and mechanical repairs to more involved diagnostic work, including:
- European vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Engine and drivability diagnostics.
- Electrical and network diagnostics.
- Brakes, steering and suspension.
- Cooling-system and HVAC repairs.
- Timing and engine-related repairs.
- Check-engine-light and warning-system diagnostics.
- Wiring diagrams and technical service information.
- Module diagnosis, coding and programming when applicable.
- Pre- and post-repair testing.
- Proper vehicle inspections and documentation.
We have almost all the diagnostic equipment and information needed to work on these vehicles properly, including European-specific tooling and platforms such as VCDS, ODIS, ISTA,VIDA, Xentry and other manufacturer or aftermarket diagnostic systems.
We don't expect you to know every platform on day one. We do expect you to know how to diagnose a car and be willing to learn the systems you haven't worked with yet.
Who We're Looking For:
European experience is a big plus, but we're more interested in your actual ability than a list of certificates.
A strong candidate will have:
- Professional automotive repair experience.
- Solid mechanical ability.
- Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to read and actually use wiring diagrams (preferred).
- Experience with modern scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
- A good understanding of electrical systems.
- Attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently without being babysat.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Their own normal hand tools.
ASE certifications and manufacturer training are great, but they aren't a substitute for being able to diagnose and repair a vehicle correctly.
If you come from Audi/VW, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, MINI, Volvo or another European manufacturer, we'd especially like to talk to you.
We'd also consider a strong general automotive technician who already has good diagnostic fundamentals and genuinely wants to move deeper into European vehicles.
How We Run the Shop
EuroTek is a smaller independent shop, and that is intentional.
We care about doing good work, keeping the shop professional, and continuing to improve how we diagnose and repair cars.
I'm not interested in rushing a questionable repair out the door just to make a number look good. At the same time, this is still a business, so we expect technicians to be productive, organized, and able to manage their time.
We invest heavily in equipment, diagnostic tooling, information and training because working on modern European vehicles without the right tools is a waste of everyone's time.
You'll be expected to take ownership of your work.
In return, you're going to have access to a shop that actually wants you to diagnose cars properly and become a better technician.
