Job Description: EV Technician

Location: Washington (Travel Required - Driving) - Remote

Position Summary 

The EV Charging Technician is responsible for the commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and branding of electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) across multiple West Coast locations. This role ensures optimal performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction for EV charging infrastructure in the field.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Commission new EV charging stations, including installation validation, system configuration, and network connectivity setup

  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on EVCS hardware and software systems

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure system uptime and performance

  • Install and maintain station branding elements, including signage, wraps, and decals

  • Respond to service calls and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner

  • Document all service activities, maintenance logs, and repair actions accurately

  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clients to resolve technical issues

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company procedures

  • Travel regularly throughout Washington to support field operations

Requirements 

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in electrical, electronics, or related field preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in electrical systems, field service, or EV charging infrastructure

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, low/high voltage, and troubleshooting techniques

  • Familiarity with networking, software diagnostics, and IoT-connected devices is a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Skills & Competencies 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits

  • Comfortable using mobile tools, laptops, and diagnostic software

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in outdoor environments

  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions

Work Environment 

  • Field-based role with frequent travel across WA

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments

  • On-call or after-hours work may be required as needed

  • Competitive base salary of $75K - $110K per year based on experience and skills
