Evelyn K. Davis Center Director

The Evelyn K . Davis Center for Working Families, the first-of-its-kind resource center opened its doors in 2013. Since then, it has delivered educational, job training, financial counseling, career, and small business services to thousands of unemployed, under-employed and underserved residents of Central Iowa.

LSI is seeking a Director to lead the Center's team and programming into the next era of meeting family, community, and workforce needs. As a recent addition to LSI's family of services the Director will play a key role in the continued integration of the Center into the organization and will lead the Center's ongoing efforts to maximize community impact with new and existing community partners.

What you Will Do

Overall responsibility for the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families operations, programs, and community impact. Responsible for program funding, grant compliance, and ensuring outcomes are met. Seeks new funding opportunities and strengthens partnerships. Leads staff and ensures high-quality, data-driven service delivery aligned with strategic goals.

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible work experience with social service, workforce development, or economic empowerment programs, plus 5 years of supervisory experience required. Preferred: Masters degree in related field.

Further, candidates will demonstrate understanding of the framework which integrates three core service strands of Workforce and Employment Services, Financial Literacy Education and Coaching, and Access to Public Benefits. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of services through the successful and practical application of interviewing and assessment skills, knowledge of human growth and behavior, an understanding of social service systems, workforce and economic development programs and resources, crisis intervention, case management and advocacy with assigned clients.
