Position Summary
Pioneer Elementary School is seeking a dependable detail-oriented Evening Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students and staff. This position is responsible for general cleaning, sanitation, light maintenance, and securing the building during evening hours.
Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust assigned areas. Empty trash and recycling containers. Refill supplies, paper products, soap, etc. Perform routine floor care as assigned (e.g., mopping, buffing). Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns. Assist with minor repairs or setup of furniture/equipment as needed. Ensure building security by locking doors. Follow established safety procedures and cleaning protocols.
Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not always required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong reliability and punctuality. Ability to lift and move equipment/materials typically up to 40-50 lbs. Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and safety practices. Ability to pass required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications Prior custodial or facilities experience. Familiarity with school environments. Knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques.
