Dietary Aide Job Description

A Dietary Aide helps prepare, serve, and clean up meals in a nursing home or care facility. This role is an important part of making sure residents receive their meals on time in a clean, friendly, and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare meal trays and beverages for residents
• Serve meals and snacks in the dining room or resident areas
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Clean and sanitize tables, counters, and work areas
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Assist with stocking supplies and putting away food items
• Work as part of the dietary team to keep mealtime running smoothly

Qualifications

• Friendly, dependable, and willing to learn
• Able to work well with others
• Good attendance and positive attitude
• Able to follow directions and safety rules
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items during the shift

Schedule

• Evening hours: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
• A few evenings per week
