Job Title: Evening Janitor – Part TimeOrganization: G&A Museum Operations Mantua LLC operating at the Edelman Fossil Park &Museum of Rowan University in Mantua Township, NJPosition Overview: The Evening Janitor at Edelman Fossil Park & Museum plays a vital role inensuring that our museum and park remain pristine and welcoming for all visitors. In thisposition, you will provide thorough cleaning services after museum hours based upon a weeklyschedule of specific areas/services. This role is ideal for someone with cleaning experience, akeen eye for detail, the ability to work under limited supervision and a commitment to creating apositive visitor experience.Key Responsibilities:1. Facility Standards:• Perform daily cleaning tasks based upon weekly schedules and defined proceduresof specific required tasks.• Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition.• Ensure restrooms are sanitized, properly stocked, and orderly.• Generate maintenance work requests in response to discovered needs.• Maintain an adequate level of cleaning supplies and paper products through aninventory process and notify supervisor when supplies are required to be ordered.• Provide important information to other Janitorial/Porter staff through establishedmethods.2. Guest Interaction (during evening events):• Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.• Ensure all interactions with guests are cordial and helpful.• Minimize interference with guest enjoyment while performing assigned duties.Qualifications:• Prior experience in general cleaning, custodial, or event support roles. Experience in amuseum, park, nature center, zoo, or similar environment is a plus.• Familiarity with basic cleaning procedures and equipment. Experience with specializedequipment such as floor machines is a plus.• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and supervisors.• Ability to read and follow written cleaning procedures, safety instructions, and productlabels.• Ability to work independently and solve problems as they arise.• Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.• A dedication to the museum’s educational mission.Work Setting:• Museum headquarters is in the lower level of the stunning new Edelman Fossil ParkMuseum. The headquarters suite features a reception area, private offices, a large openoffice area, three conference rooms, a kitchenette, team lounge, and outdoor patio,situated by a 4-acre lake. The Evening Janitor is based out of the Engineering Officeimmediately adjacent to headquarters.• This is a part-time position with G&A Museum Operations Mantua LLC, based at theEdelman Fossil Park & Museum, in Mantua Township, NJ.• This role primarily requires weekend evening work with some occasions of weekdayday/evening work to support staff time off.• Tasks may be adjusted from time to time based on an evening event schedule.• The role may require work outdoors in varying weather conditions.• The role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods, and tolift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis.“Discover the Past.
