Overview

The position of evening proctor schedule will be approximately 14 hours per week, depending on availability and scheduling needs. Work is not required during winter, spring, or summer school breaks. During the College's final exam week each semester, work hours will shift to align with the last exam being proctored each day. Work hours are Monday - Thursday, 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm during the fall and spring semester.

Primary Function:

  • To support the efforts and help meet the responsibilities of Accessibility Services.
  • Provide an accessible, distraction-reduced testing environment for students with academic accommodations.
  • Support ADA/504 compliance efforts through coordination of testing accommodations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Proctor Student Exams

  • Supervise students taking exams with academic accommodations
  • Set up and support testing-taking technology, as needed
  • Reach out to faculty during exams with student questions, as needed
  • Manage and/or replenish testing equipment and supplies (laptops, calculators, pens/pencils, blue books, envelopes, etc.)
  • Maintain a secure, distraction-reduced testing environment at all times and report violations of academic integrity if/when they occur

Assist with coordination of daily testing accommodations for students with disabilities

  • Assist in preparing the daily exam schedule and the proctoring room
  • Process, organize, and print copies of exams for subsequent testing days
  • Generate test scheduling reminders to faculty and students when applicable
  • Scan and/or package completed exams for return to faculty

Additional tasks/projects

  • Assist in coordinating make-ups, when necessary and appropriate
  • Perform other duties/tasks, as assigned

Confidential Information

  • Ensure the confidentiality of all Accessibility Services materials, including student records
  • Exercise discretion in handling confidential material and personal matters

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Prior experience and skill using data programs, especially Excel.
  • General aptitude with technology and willingness to learn new applications.
  • Some familiarity with disability accommodations, ADA, Section 504 of Rehabilitation Act.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate well with faculty, students, parents/caretakers, and administration.
