Working Hours and/or Working Conditions
Working Hours and/or Working Conditions 40 hours per week, with some remote work allowance. Flexible hours based on college need, including extended evenings and weekends. Travel between campuses and off-site locations as required. Must be able to lift and carry 25lbs or more and bend and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of video switchers, keyed graphics, audio mixing and EQ, signal flow routing and distribution, live streaming encoders and streaming protocols, and camera systems. Familiarity with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Meet, Microsoft Teams, Teams live events and Stream), online video platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, Brightcove, Panopto, Kaltura, etc.). Networking knowledge and in-room production design knowledge (conference rooms, event spaces, studios, training rooms) are a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to support presenters and clients in potentially high-pressure situations. Ability to think creatively and solve problems quickly during live events. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with colleagues, students, clients, and external vendors. Supervision
Supervision Reports to the Director, Conference & Event Services, take daily directions from the Manager Event Audio Visual and Media Services. May provide day-to-day directions to part-time staff or work study students as assigned.
Job Function
The technician Audio Visual (AV) and Media Services support the delivery, reliability, and smooth operation of AV technology used for college events, meetings, and rental spaces. This role assists with setting up, operating, and troubleshooting AV systems, ensuring users have a positive and seamless experience. The Technician assists the Manager of Event Audio Visual (AV) and Media Services to provide campus departments, event planners, and presenters to provide hands-on technical support and help maintain AV equipment, digital signage, and related media services. Additionally, the Technician will perform technical aspects related to conference and event productions, assisting in all on-site AV operations while collaborating closely with departments and clients to ensure seamless AV solution integration. This position is ideal for someone with working knowledge of audiovisual systems who is eager to support daily operations, contribute to event production needs, and provide excellent customer service.

Do you have one of the following: An associate degree or relevant course work/certification in audio sound, media arts, digital media productions, or information technology and 1 or more years experience supporting AV systems. OR 2 years of professional work in AV support event production or technical operations.
