Event Coordinator - Oakland, CA (Onsite)

Pay: $30-$33/hour

Assignment: Ongoing Temp, covering someone on medical leave

We are seeking an organized, energetic, and detail‑driven Event Coordinator to support a high‑volume conference center in Oakland, CA. This role is fully onsite and ideal for someone with hotel event coordination experience, particularly those who thrive in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

About the Role

The Event Coordinator will manage scheduling, logistics, and operational support for both internal and external meetings and events. This position partners closely with AV, setup, catering, and events leadership to ensure every event runs smoothly from planning through execution.

Key Responsibilities

Event Scheduling & Planning

  • Schedule, manage, and coordinate conference center events and meetings

  • Assist internal and external users with event planning needs

  • Create event diagrams and room layouts (preferred experience: Social Tables)

Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Partner with AV Tech to ensure audio‑visual needs are addressed

  • Work with the Setup Supervisor to ensure room configurations are executed accurately

  • Support the Events Manager in processing operational requirements

  • Act as a liaison for assigned events, including coordination with the catering manager

Operational Execution

  • Ensure smooth logistical operations throughout the conference center

  • Implement and evaluate room setup, transitions, and strike processes

  • Confirm all guest reservations and meetings comply with policies

  • Assist with additional projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in hotel event coordination or hotel conference services

  • Strong understanding of high‑volume, fast‑paced event operations

  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functional teams (AV, catering, setup, management)

  • Proactive approach to problem‑solving and logistics planning

Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour
