Coordinate and administer the planning, promotion, and sponsorship of Marketing, Sales or company-sponsored community events.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the planning, promotion, and sponsorship of Marketing, Sales or company-sponsored community events. Develop and maintain master events calendar. Day of event, provide logistical support to vendors and internal resources. Create event layout floor plan identifying space assignments as well as details such as theme, color scheme, number of chairs, tables, trash cans, and similar. Verify and confirm other department resource support for events such as security, facilities, floral shop.
  • Develop and/or prepare event materials & giveaways for company-sponsored marketing events. Type, proof, and print event agendas, invitations, and other collaterals.
  • Prepare invoices or check requests for approval and payment. Maintain Event expense spreadsheet for post event analysis by management.
  • Source, catering, entertainment, sound, music, event and other related vendors for events. Obtain pricing, contract criteria/constraints, licensing, inspections, or similar in order for management to evaluate vendor.
  • Monitor department mail box and respond to internal and external requests for logos, photos, etc. process film industry requests; prepare, update and maintain reporting spreadsheets; create/prepare reports, presentation materials, awards, certificates, flyers and other documents as needed.
  • Provide support in reaching out to influencers and utilizing social media for event promotion and Company exposure
  • Maintain department office supplies, files, and provide general office support.

Consistently applies procedures, regulations, and policies producing compliant and efficient results. Exhibits accountability for work and behaviors.
  • Takes the initiative to discuss assignments, expectations, priorities and deadlines as well as seek guidance and coaching from manager. Notifies manager when workload is light and volunteers for additional work. Adjusts quickly to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Drafts SOPs and Job Aids with an appropriate level of detail for user needs.

MINIMUM Requirements

Education

  • Associate degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or related discipline

Licenses

  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Experience

  • At least two (2) years' experience working in marketing or communications
  • Prior experience coordinating, planning, and promoting public events a plus
  • Prior experience soliciting sponsorship is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient with MS Office Excel and PowerPoint
  • Accurate mathematical skills
  • Knowledgeable in funeral/cemetery/care center industry acumen
  • Cognitive ability including reasoning, identify problems, comprehend ideas, learn quickly, learn from experience, and appropriately apply learning to new situations.
  • Process and results oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead by identifying obstacles and exploring alternatives
  • Must have a positive attitude, a drive to continually advance your understanding of the industry and business, and is highly self-motivated
  • Ability to build professional and trusting business relations within the team
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in the death industry
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and overtime

Work CONDITIONS

Work Environment

  • Work indoors and or outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions
  • Local and/or multiple location traveling required
  • Comply with Field dress code policy

Work Postures

  • Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
  • Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
  • Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently

Physical Demands

  • Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 20 pounds
