About the Company

T

The Motorcycle Company

Members of the Veracka Family have been life-long motorcycle enthusiasts. In the mid-70s, Dave Veracka turned his passion for motorcycles into a career and started the family’s first motorcycle dealership by opening a Kawasaki franchise. Dave’s sons, Mike and Paul, grew up in the dealership and each started riding dirt bikes at the age of 4. Mike and Paul knew they were destined to end up in the motorcycle industry. Eventually Dave was able to fulfill his dream of owning a Harley-Davidson dealership in 2005 with the purchase of L-A Harley-Davidson located in Lewiston, Maine.

In 2008, Mike and Paul joined the family business and moved with Dave from New England to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take the reins of Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson. The Harley business was good despite a difficult economic downturn. In 2010, the family made the journey from Michigan to Olathe, Kansas to expand the business and take on a new challenge with the addition of Rawhide Harley-Davidson.

An unplanned opportunity in 2011 brought one of the hardest business decisions to the family; accept or decline an offer to sell Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson. The Verackas decided to sell Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson knowing it would allow them to expand in their hometown market of Boston and also increase their presence west of the Mississippi River. In 2012, Avalanche Harley- Davidson in Denver and High Octane Harley-Davidson outside of Boston were added to the group.

The next opportunity to grow the Harley business landed the Verackas on the west coast in late 2013 with the addition of Riverside Harley-Davidson in Riverside, California. The dealership was formerly known as Skip Fordyce Harley-Davidson which had decades of history and success in the Southern California market. Riverside Harley-Davidson is the first Veracka dealership located in a climate where riding is year round.

The Veracka family will now take two of their newest dealerships in Southern California and continue to build on them, fueling the passion and enthusiasm for the Harley-Davidson brand here in Orange County. The Veracka’s have big plans for Huntington Beach and Surf City Harley-Davidson.

The growth and success of the dealerships couldn’t have been achieved without the help from outstanding employee teams. There are many Harley-Davidson dealerships out there that have big buildings and the exact same world class Harley-Davidson motorcycles, parts and motorclothes. The only difference that sets dealerships apart is the people. Exceptional employees are the key to fulfilling dreams by providing a kick-ass customer experience creating customers for life.
