Description:
Fishers Parks is dedicated to engaging community, strengthening connections, and enhancing quality of life through exceptional experiences and world-class events.

The Fishers Parks Department is seeking enthusiastic, community-focused individuals to support a variety of summer events and community experiences. This Temporary position runs from May through October and plays an important role in the successful execution of on-site event operations. Applicants only available to work during the summer break (May - August) will be considered.

Event Crew will assist our Event and Marketing teams with all aspects of event management; including creative development, marketing, vendor support, community engagement, operational support, promotions, set-up, and teardown. Some light office and administrative work may also be required, including organizing supplies, preparing materials, and assisting with event logistics.

This position primarily works evenings and weekends, with frequent shifts on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends and must be available for Spark!Fishers Festival (June 27th).

Examples of Duties

  • Assist with all aspects of on-site event operations for Parks programs, concerts, festivals, and community events.
  • Support event setup and teardown, including tents, tables, chairs, barricades, signage, supplies, and promotional materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with event attendees, vendors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Staff Parks information tents and assist guests with event information and wayfinding.
  • Engage attendees in interactive activities to help create fun, welcoming, and memorable experiences.
  • Assist Parks staff with event planning, preparation, and operational logistics.
  • Travel throughout Fishers to promote Parks events and distribute marketing materials at local businesses, parks, and community locations.
  • Assist with inventory, organization, loading/unloading, and storage of event equipment and supplies.
  • Support light office and administrative tasks as needed, including assembling materials, organizing event supplies, and preparing promotional items.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude in fast-paced environments.
  • Provide additional Parks Department support as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old by employment start date;
  • Ability to work approximately 20 to 25 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed;
  • Prefer applicants with a valid driver’s license and ability to meet City insurance requirements, including a minimum of three years of licensed driving experience (permit time excluded);
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt during fast-paced or high-attendance events;
  • Strong verbal communication skills;
  • Highly motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities with tight deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Candidates must be available for Spark!Fishers Festival (June 27th).

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, cold, and uneven terrain required.

Team members must be able to:

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly;
  • Stand and walk for extended periods during events;
  • Repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead;
  • Load, unload, and transport event equipment and supplies;
  • Assist with setup and teardown activities before and after events, sometimes during early mornings or late evenings;
  • Work in crowded, loud, and fast-paced event environments.
