The Campus Chester County is a multi purpose sports and recreation facility located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The organization provides year round programming including youth and adult sports leagues, camps, skating programs, aquatics, birthday parties, corporate events, tournaments, fitness activities, and community events. The facility includes indoor and outdoor athletic spaces, ice rinks, turf fields, event areas, food service operations, and family entertainment attractions designed to serve athletes, families, schools, and local organizations. The Campus Chester County is seeking an organized and customer focused Event Manager to oversee the planning and execution of events hosted at the facility. This role is responsible for coordinating tournaments, birthday parties, community programs, corporate gatherings, sports events, and private rentals while ensuring a safe, professional, and welcoming experience for guests. The Event Manager will work closely with operations staff, coaches, vendors, maintenance teams, food service staff, and external clients to ensure events are delivered efficiently and according to facility standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively, manages multiple priorities, and is comfortable working in a fast paced sports and recreation environment that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of tournaments, parties, rentals, and community events
- Communicate with clients, vendors, coaches, and internal departments to confirm schedules, event details, staffing, and operational needs
- Prepare event timelines, room layouts, equipment requests, and facility usage schedules
- Monitor event activities to ensure guest satisfaction, safety procedures, and company standards are maintained
- Utilize scheduling software, point of sale systems, email platforms, radios, and event management tools to support daily operations
- Coordinate audiovisual equipment, tables, chairs, sports equipment, signage, and other event related materials as needed
- Work closely with maintenance, custodial, and food service teams to ensure facilities are clean, stocked, and event ready
- Assist with resolving guest concerns, operational issues, and last minute schedule adjustments in a professional manner
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience coordinating events, sports programs, hospitality operations, or facility rentals preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
- Comfortable using scheduling software, Microsoft Office, email systems, point of sale platforms, and mobile communication devices
- Ability to lift and move event supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds when needed
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including sports facilities, ice rinks, aquatic areas, and event spaces
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain professionalism in a fast paced environment
- Ability to pass applicable background screenings in accordance with company policies and local regulations
