We serve more than 4,000 seniors across our San Fernando Valley campuses, delivering personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs, from independent living to specialized healthcare programs.

The responsibilities of the Event Manager include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute a long-term event strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Develop an annual event calendar and ensure integration with communications and fundraising plans.
  • Set event goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and metrics for success.
  • Lead the planning and operational logistics for events - including venue selection, catering, decor, audiovisual/production staffing security, and permits.
  • Oversee registration, attendee experience, program flow, and on-site management.
  • Troubleshoot issues in real-time and ensure seamless delivery.
  • Partner with development/fundraising teams to build revenue-generating event models (ticketing, auctions, sponsorships, pledges).
  • Identify, solicit, and steward sponsors and underwriters.
  • Integrate donor recognition and stewardship elements into events.
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and evaluate event staff, contractors, and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with marketing/communications, finance, operations, and development teams.
  • Lead RFPs, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Develop, monitor, and own event budgets, forecast revenues and costs.
  • Ensure events meet financial targets (ROI, net revenue).
  • Provide post-event analysis, reporting, and insights to senior leadership and Board.
  • Work with communications/marketing teams to develop event branding, collateral, promotional campaigns, and post-event materials.
  • Leverage digital marketing, social media, email, and press channels to drive attendance and visibility.
  • Collect feedback, analyze performance data, and present post-event insights and recommendations.
  • Identify process improvements, cost efficiencies, and innovations for future events.

Education and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, marketing, nonprofit management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7 - 10+ years of experience in event planning/management; at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated track record organizing large scale, high impact events (e.g. budgets in six figures, 300+ attendees.)
  • Strong experience with fundraising, sponsorship development, or revenue-generating events (especially for nonprofit settings).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple simultaneous events.
  • Proficiency in event management software (e.g. Cvent, Eventbrite), CRMs (e.g. Salesforce, Raiser's Edge), and standard business tools (MS Office, Google Workspace).

Working Conditions:
  • Full-time, exempt role with frequent evenings and weekends, especially surrounding event dates.
  • Travel locally and occasionally out of town for site visits or partner engagement.
  • Mix of office, remote, and event-site work.
