Position Summary:
The Medical Roamer is a vital member of the University of Tennessee Event Medicine team, providing rapid-response prehospital care at athletic, concert, and special events. Medical Roamers are strategically stationed throughout venues to quickly access patients in crowded or high-traffic areas. This role ensures timely, professional medical care for patrons, staff, and athletes in coordination with the broader event medical team.
The medical roamer can be an: • Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) • Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech)
Position Qualification:
Paramedics: 1 year of related experience in the field.
Nurses: 1 year of related experience in nursing.
AEMT/EMT: Must have worked in the field or in the hospital environment for 6 months.
EDT: Must have worked in the ED or ICU for 6 months.
AEMT/EMT must have BLS.
Paramedic/RN must have BLS/ACLS/PALS (RN: TNCC/ATCN) (Paramedic: PHTLS/ITLS)
Must be able to walk varying amount of distances indoors and outdoors.
