The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership is seeking part-time event staff that will assist at a variety of PDP programming events throughout the year including: Picklesburgh, WorldSquare, Mini Golf activations, Oktoberfest, as well as PDP holiday activations including the Holiday Market, Holiday Kidsplay, and Light Up Night. As a member of the Special Events team at the PDP, the Operations Event Staff will report to the Event Operations Manager for scheduling purposes and the dedicated Event Manager while onsite.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the visitor's experience
  • Assist with set-up and teardown of PDP events including staging, tents, signage, and basic audio equipment or lighting. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
  • Direct and/or assist with PDP activations as needed
  • Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to report any issues or questions in real-time
  • Onsite problem-solving, conflict resolution, and other duties comparable to the level/type as assigned
  • Display flexibility by providing support to various positions as required to maintain operational efficiency

  • Previous event operations experience is preferred

  • All staff must have or be willing to get PA Criminal History, Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History clearances
Job Conditions
  • Must be willing to work mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be willing to work outside in varying weather conditions
  • Must operate equipment safely and in accordance with training, wear appropriate attire, and report any unsafe work conditions or practices to the supervisor
Dress Code
  • Closed-toed shoes are required at all times
  • This job takes place almost entirely outdoors. Ability to dress for the weather is required.
  • Must wear branded clothing, provided by PDP, when on duty and be responsible for clean and neat appearance
