Kenton County Public Library Job Title: Programmer II Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Branch: Erlanger, 401 Kenton Lands Rd, Erlanger, KY 41018 Pay Range: $20.32 - $28.69 per hour Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), with a schedule that may include any day of the week, including days, evenings, weekends, and the holidays the Library is open. We're looking for an Event Planner/Programmer II who is creative, organized, and passionate about bringing people together. What You'll Do Plan and execute engaging library programs, events, and community gatherings for audiences of all sizes. Coordinate every aspect of event logistics, including budgets, contracts, room setup, catering, entertainment, equipment, and marketing materials. Collaborate with library staff, community organizations, businesses, vendors, and performers to create impactful events and programs. Promote library events through partnerships, social media, marketing efforts, and community outreach. Train and support staff and volunteers in event procedures and best practices. Provide excellent customer service at public service points and assist with essential library operations. Track program outcomes, prepare reports, and help ensure events are delivered efficiently and successfully. Serve as a problem solver and point person during events, ensuring a positive experience for attendees and partners. Perform other job-related tasks as needed to support Library operations What We're Looking For A highly organized professional who enjoys managing details, timelines, and multiple projects simultaneously. Someone with experience in event planning, marketing, public relations, or a related field. A relationship builder who enjoys working with community partners, vendors, performers, and colleagues. A creative thinker who can develop engaging programs and memorable experiences for the community. Strong communication and customer service skills, both in person and online. Someone who remains calm under pressure and can adapt quickly when plans change. A collaborative team member who is comfortable leading projects and coordinating the work of others. A service-minded professional who is committed to creating welcoming, high-quality experiences for patrons and partners alike. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree preferred KDLA certification (or ability to obtain) at the level required for this position, and the ability to maintain it Experience in event planning, marketing and/or public relations required Demonstrated professionalism and team building experience Experience in maintaining and building dependable and impactful community and business relationships Valid driver's license and means of transportation to fulfill job responsibilities Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs., and reaching, bending, and kneeling Benefits At the Kenton County Public Library, we value our employees and the important role each person plays in serving our community.
