Event Planning Management

Direct/Manage/Supervise on-site and/or virtual marketing events such as customer seminars, full-scale conferences, virtual conferences, trade shows, webinars/webcasts, and other events. Oversee event planning and logistics, ensuring the successful execution of event programs. Determine event budgets and conduct research to identify new event opportunities for the organization based on potential attendees, speaking opportunities, and other factors. Assess current software and tools and provide recommendations for features/enhancements for future consideration and implementation to achieve goals related to virtual events. Develop event marketing strategies and communication plans to ensure positive results and ensure strategy is consistent. Oversee the development of processes for repeatability and scalability of events. Oversee the negotiation of contracts with conference sites, hotels, and outside vendors. Review post event analysis, budget recaps, and feedback, and incorporate into future event plans.

Responsibilities

Supervisor, Event Planning Management

Direct/Manage/Supervise on-site and/or virtual marketing events such as customer seminars, full-scale conferences, virtual conferences, trade shows, webinars/webcasts, and other events. Oversee event planning and logistics, ensuring the successful execution of event programs. Determine event budgets and conduct research to identify new event opportunities for the organization based on potential attendees, speaking opportunities, and other factors. Assess current software and tools and provide recommendations for features/enhancements for future consideration and implementation to achieve goals related to virtual events. Develop event marketing strategies and communication plans to ensure positive results and ensure strategy is consistent. Oversee the development of processes for repeatability and scalability of events. Oversee the negotiation of contracts with conference sites, hotels, and outside vendors. Review post event analysis, budget recaps, and feedback, and incorporate into future event plans. Coordinates and leads daily team activities. May spend a portion of time performing the work of those they supervise. Assists with management decisions and activities. Working knowledge of team function within the organization.

Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Supervisor, Event Planning Management: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master's (or equivalency) degree.

Preferences

  • Experience managing and executing events in a higher education setting
  • Experience communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience using project management tools like Trello
  • Experience using Handshake
