| Job Description: | Student employees within the Event Productions department must: - Be a current UF degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
- Respond to and assist with emergency situations and building evacuations per department procedures or as instructed by building management staff
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Maintain an exemplary work ethic by being proactive, self-motivated, and dependable
- Participate in all scheduled meetings, trainings, and evaluations
- Serve as an ambassador for all areas within the Reitz Union as well as the University of Florida, providing accurate information and campus resources
Position specific responsibilities: - Set up and strike tables, chairs, stages, podiums, audiovisual equipment, and other event furnishings independently or as part of a team, following room diagrams and event documentation for both indoor and outdoor venues
- Works collaboratively with team members while maintaining a professional, friendly, and positive attitude
- Provide customer service support and audio-visual troubleshooting with clients during setup and live events
- Assist with the transportation, distribution, and redistribution of office furniture, event equipment, and general equipment, ensuring items are returned to proper storage areas when not in use
- Conduct equipment inventories, maintain organization and proper storage of furniture and audiovisual equipment, and perform minor repairs
- Must be physically able to lift 45 pounds regularly and work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Scheduling requirements for this position: - Work a minimum of 15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters
- Ability to commit to at least two semesters
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, and weekend availability is required
- This position requires a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, evenings, holidays, and academic breaks as needed
- Must have availability to work at least one holiday shift per semester and one fall football game weekend shift, as needed
- Provide two weekend (Friday-Sunday) availabilities each fall and each spring semester at a minimum

| Preferred: | Experience is not required, and all training will be provided. However, candidates with the following qualities are preferred: - The ability to work more than the minimum requirements
- Previous customer service, event, and/or AV experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A willingness to learn and be taught by your peers
- General knowledge of the University policies and Reitz Union
- CPR and First Aid certified, or willingness to obtain certification
