Local catering company now hiring for an Event Planner / Event Sales. This role is a mix on incoming and soliciting new business, building event orders, and planning the execution of a flawless event.Job duties for the event planner include:Solicit new catering customers through prospecting and cold calls.Accurately develop and write catering contractsWork with the Chef on menu.Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items through frequent tasting.Maintain and foster current client base with various sales techniques.Develop and Maintain a list of preferred vendors for flowers, music, audio visual equipment, etc.Effectively attempt to attain sales goals.Oversee any catered event that requires a personal visit.Maintain a positive pleasant, attitude every shift.Perform calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment.Be able to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and increased work schedules.Requirements for the Event Planner role:3+ years of catering sales experience; restaurant/hospitality industry.Experience with developing relationships while cultivating new clienteleA guest-focused, detailed approach to sales and serviceAbility to thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentSkilled in polished & professional communication (in-person, phone & correspondence)Preferred QualificationsExperience with parties/special eventsProven knowledge of current industry trends & newsExperience with outside sales in downtown Minneapolis#J-18808-Ljbffr
