These part-time roles are for our fall event season.
JOB SUMMARY
Event Season Coaches and Zone Coaches are an integral part of making event season special. This role will aim to keep Woodward's renowned facilities operating at a high level year around. You will be responsible for preparing facilities before events, as well as interacting with guests and working during events.
In addition to coaching and zone coaching, one can expect to perform a variety of tasks, such as deep cleaning and other operational tasks in preparation and closing of camp season. Individuals must be willing to evolve and adapt with the needs of the business and adhere to and support all work protocols and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Zone Coach coverage for designated skateparks assigned during each event.
Assist with hydration, front gate operations, parking, trash disposal, security, spreading salt and shoveling, and provide an excellent guest experience.
Conduct weekly park cleanings and safety checks, deep cleaning foam pits, and making the necessary indoor arrangements for winter use.
Perform various seasonal tasks for the upkeep and of skateparks, buildings and grounds.
Proactively communicate safety needs/concerns ahead of time to allow department leadership to provide resources in a timely manner and keep projects on a planned timeline.
Attend and participate in all staff trainings and meetings to acquire all relevant and needed information.
Effectively carry out all aspects of the Curriculum as assigned based on role.
Create a cohesive & positive experience among all participants in your care.
Ensure participants are acting responsibly, respectfully and following all camp standards.
Communicate with the medical team effectively in event of an injury. Support as needed.
Support in the routine safety inspections and cleanliness of camp facilities as assigned.
Report all safety concerns immediately to your direct Supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
Role-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Coaches – Actively supervise/manage your assigned group (+/-8). Develop lesson plans to ensure participants learn new skills and meet goals utilizing Woodward's progression tools and WIPS system. Evaluate campers daily and provide meaningful feedback to ensure growth individually and as a group.
Zone Coaches – Ensure zone is clean, free of all trash & debris, hazards and is safe for open ride sessions at all times. Provide open instruction, engage with campers and ensure all safety standards are met.

Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
Experience working in a camp environment is preferred.
High School degree or equivalent preferred
Experience in Skateboard coaching preferred

Must have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work:
Woodward will supply information to assist you in obtaining these if needed.
Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
Safesport Training Certificate
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
